Wadsworth] Hartford Dec. 6^th 1789 [undecipherable] Dear Sir, I here return the papers you sent me with Warrants unnecessary on hand as no more can be Negotiated. the Ballance will not [be due] before the 15 instant but I dont expect to receive it so soon. I have never negotiated any since my return the Act of our legislature made it impracticable. I have the pleasure to inform you that my family are all recovering, from the influenza & if they dont again relapse will soon be in good health. Our freind the Marquis is indeed in a perilous situation, but he is in great Spirits & I hope will succeed. Tho I fear they are aiming at more liberty than is consistent with good Government.
