Humphreys (Extract) You will learn by the Negroes delivered to you, that certain Goods were left by the Commissioners after the Treaties of Hopewell on the commencement of the April 17^th. It is probable that these Goods may have been delivered to Mess^rs Pickens and Osborne, you will therefore apply to the said Gentlemen for a regular Inventory of all the Goods in their possession for the Treaty, distinguishing the means by which they became possessed thereof. You will also request of them an Account of the Monies or Goods they may have received of the States of South Carolina and Georgia in consequence of the [undecipherable] of Congress of the 26^th October 1787 and a request the [undecipherable: text continues on following page] Rock Landing 26^th September 1789 Gentlemen/ In answer to your Letter of this date, We do ourselves the Honor to enclose a Copy of our Letter to Mr Lewis of Charlestown, dated 20^th of April, with a copy of his Answer dated 6^th June last. We do not know of any Goods being left at Hopewell. The accounts of Monies received from the States of South Carolina and Georgia, together with our account of the appropriation and expenditures of the same, we have also the honor to enclose, the Vouchers of all which are ready for your Inspection.
