Aug^t 1789 Sir Among the many solicitations which have been made by your friends for your Interest in their behalf to some Appointment under the New Government I have forborn troubling you untill now. —— Presuming you soon will be, if you are not already, appointed with more ample Powers to the important Station you have so long filled with Universal Approbation, I flatter myself, I shall be honoured with your Commands, for such Services and Supplies as you may have Occasion for in this Quarter...
