[Honble Henry Knox Esq^r Secretary at War New York] [Boston March 25. 1789] [Isaac Peirce] [Kentucky bounty lands due —] [to his Sons — Isaac & Hardy] [2 officers] From Peirce Boston march 23^d 1789 Sir agreable to the Information from the War office of February 15th Last, Respecting the bounty Lands due the officers of the late Continental Army, or their Representatives. I have to Claim as follows, Viz^t under the first Class. Commission officers that Served [strikethrough: to the] the end of the War: I Conceive my Son major Isaac Peirce Who Sickened in the Service and died While on furlou to Whose Estate I am Administrator, and as Such have Received his Wages, Will Draw [strikethrough: the] the Lands he is Intitled to — on the third Viz. the Legal Representatives of all Commission officers Kill'd in Action — under Which my Son Lieu^t Hardy Peirce is included he being Kill'd When in Action at Fort Lee, a Circumstance to Which you are Well Knowing, to Whom I am Legal Representative as Heir at Law he being the age of twenty Years and two months old When Kill'd Please to Turn over — inclosed is a Copy of my Administration on my Son Isaacs Estate — I Shall take it Kind if you will Send one the Warrent, under Cover to my Son Joseph, of major Peirce and Leut^s Peirces rights in the fourth Discription of Lands in [strikethrough: the] your Proclamation — this Sir with my best Wishes for the Health and Prosperity of Your Self and family is from your Very Humble Servent Isaac Peirce
