Sir
The bounties of ten pounds to each & four soldiers for three years enlisting, the were charged in the account to which your refer in your letter of the 25th of February, were [underline: State] bounties in addition to the bounties & for pounds allowed by the [underline: United State].
In stating the accounts I endeavoured to distinguish between State & Continental bounties, those of the latter description, are except for a few instances, included in the charges made from Vouchers 73 to 83 being the amounts of Officers disbursed in sentry districts in this State in pursuance of the resolve of Congress of the 31st of July & 17th of October [undecipherable].
