Dear Sir
I have attended to the request contained in your letter of the 12 instd and by appealing to the accounts of Mr Harrison have obtained the original papers attested to in his certificate & recd to Capt Taliaferro on file with your papers as Asst Commissioner — by this post I shall write to Mr Hopkins and inform him he is at liberty to deliver Capt Taliaferro the notes due him for balance of Specie pay of 702 & 703 — as these receipts has exonerated the Capt from those charges which appeared against him, — your letter was a long time travelling — it did not reach me untill the 3. inst.
