Capt. John Thacher commanded a company in Col. Heman Swift's Regiment, raised for the aforesaid service and received in June 1776 from the State $852..c..r for the use of his Company which sum is charged to the United States, though no Vouchers or accounts have ever been obtained; upon a condition that in case Capt. Thacher shall not account for the whole of the monies advanced, the deficiency is to be remitted in Settlement of the State accounts, as may appear from the accounts transmitted to Jonathan Haskell esq^r on the 25^th of October last It will be indispensible that Capt.
