Agreably to your request of the 30th Inst I enclose you a Certificate of the settlement of your accounts as Agent to the Invalid regiment, which I flatter my self will prevent you further trouble and satisfy all those interested — the letter for Mr. Bigham I delivered —

This may certify to whom it may concern, that on the 14th of October 1785 Colonel Lewis Nicola, late commanding the Invalid regiment, and agent for the distributing the certificates of final settlements for balances of pay & clothing due the officers & soldiers of said regiment appeared and finally settled his accounts as agent to said regiment and returned into the hands of John Pierce esqr. late commissioner of Army Accounts (now deceased) sundry Certificates for balances due by him the Sd Colonel Lewis Nicola — reference being had to the principal Books of this office and to the accounts of the said Nicola on file will more fully appear —
