Description

Knox expresses chagrin that the Indians have postponed their meeting. He notes that it is in the best interests of the United States to avoid an Indian war and points out that the British officers commanding the posts hope that the issue will be favorable. Points out that there is no congress and is uncertain as to whether one will assemble until the new Constitution takes place. If an Indian war is inevitable, the best policy will be to speedily terminate it, as a protracted would be destruction to the republic.
