I have received your Books and Vouchers for the Specie payments made by you to the late D. Massachusetts Regt as examined and ballanced by Mr Swan and have approved of his Statement of them — And find there is due from you to the United States the sum of two hundred and eighty one and 90/₁₀₀ dollars Specie — It is my desire that all accounts of this nature may be closed as Speedily as possible, I therefore wish that you would forward the balance to me in cash or bills on this place as soon as you conveniently can. If you chuse to remit bills I am informed they can probably be procured of Mr Jonathan Freeman of Boston. It is however immaterial who they are drawn by, if they are only good ones. I have suggested this method for your paying in the ballance, from Mr Swans information that it wou
