Dear Sir
Your letter of the 7 Inst. with its enclosure is duly received — If you had not jogged my memory relative to William Codet's claim I should have forgot that the enclosed certificate from Mr Van Ransalœr had ever been in my possession, this certificate will inform you that Mr Codet's memory is treacherous, that his pay &c. has long since been disposed of — there are several Vessels in this port for London one of which, the Ship Brothers, Cap.
