Aaron Swetland late of Colo Baldwins Regiment of Artificers has made an application for balance due him while in service of the United States. — on examining the vouchers transmitted by you to this office on Settlement with Jonathan Phillips find a receipt given by the Sd Swetland for the amt due him — it being alledged that this receipt was fraudulently obtained, and the party on behalf of Swetland requesting to have the same for loyal, I take the liberty to trouble you with it. the person applying being a stranger to me requesting you will please State a receipt from the person who applies for it, to be returned to you that it may when done will be forwarded to this Office —
