Dear Sir
Having occasion to make out a list of Soldiers who are entitled to a bounty of land due from this State, and not being possessed of a list of the Maryland Artillery men who received Final Settlements, I have to request that you will please to furnish me with the names, the time paid for, & sums received in certificates of Mr John While by the men of the Artillery companies belonging to the State of Maryland
As I expect to be called upon for a return immediately, I request you will please to forward the above as soon as possible — with great regard
