Your favor of the 2d Inst came duly to hand— Lieut Brett and the clothing are arrived safe at Brunswick— he reached that place on the 6th Mr Hagg was there the 7th and the waggons from Pennsylvania arrived the same day however the artillery which St Hagg wrote for to Mr Hepburn on the 5th had not arrived at Brunswick, but probably came there by the Haze on Saturday— Mr Hagg expected to muster & Inspect the troops on the 9th and to march them tomorrow the 10th
Mr Hodgdon's agreement with the Waggoners is expressed in his letter of the 5th to Mr Hagg as follows
"This morning I recd your favor of the 3 Instant. The Seven Waggons are engaged under the following orders I they will inform you with this— The conditions of these agreements are as follows - Viz each Waggon to be paid for at the rate of Twenty Jerseys Penna Currency per day, to commence on the day they leave this City to go to Brunswick - to load with a Ton weight Gross each if required, to proceed with the troops - to receive Twenty pounds each in advance, and to be allowed thirteen days to return to their respective homes"
