These wait to present you Capt. Thacher's deposition which he flatters himself you will think sufficient to justify issuing the Certificates for which he languishes. — He also hopes you will think it reasonable to allow interest on the balance —
He most earnestly requests that that you would be pleased to call at the Registers office & send him the names contained in the first settlement, the second being only those in the Galley will do him no service. he is emboldened to make this request from the peculiar goodness exemplified in the carrispondance already had in this business your having mentioned to me that you had seen it and lastly his total overthrow unless it can be obtained. —
