Is the continuance of Mr White's Commission is matter of uncertainty I wish to make application for an employment in some of the Public Offices in New York and take the liberty to solicit your friendly assistance in procuring it —
The Board of Commissioners I am informed are appointed and tis likely will have occasion for a number of Assistt to them my acquaintance with the public accounts would enable me to be of considerable service —
I inclose a letter from Mr Rich mond which Shape will be considered as a sufficient recommendation but if you think it apential Mr White's Testimony in my favor will willingly be added —
Hope the pleasure of a line from you in a few days and am in the mean time
