Boston Sept 4^th 1788 Sir I have to day received a letter from M^r Hews by which he seems pleased with the proposal you made him of having his accounts settled by me, and I shall sail for Portland on the Packet tomorrow for that purpose. I cannot succeed in obtaining what is due to M^r Bartlet, his Ader being drawn for but part of the balances which were taken out in Certificates by the Agents, and on mode of dividing them between the Proprietors and M^r Bartlet.
