I wrote you on the 31 July & 11 Inst relative to the claim of Eleanor Montgomery for half pay. I will particularly thank you for a speedy answer to my enquiry, particularly as the poor Woman appears in distress and her moral Situation & Relations as appears as yet taken place in the department held by our late friend Mr. Price.

Congress having been pleased to honor me with the Commission of Army Accounts I take the liberty to request your Honble Board will be pleased to grant me an order on the Treasurer for one quire of Blank final Settlement Certificates, several Gentlemen who have balances due them are now waiting and having no Certificates but which are signed by the late Commissioners is the reason of this request.
