I had wrote you on the subject of your favor of 20th Inst. but was laid up at home with a lame foot and depended upon another sending the letter which I find was not done. Mr Montgomery is not on the list of Pensioners in this State nor from the representation of his case by you is he provided for by the laws of this State which grants half pay to Widows & Children of Commissioned Officers only in the federal Army who harbored where held & died in the Service?
I inclose you three letters if you think proper to use them and they should be of any service it will afford satisfaction to
