In the absence of the Secretary at War and by his directions previous to his leaving this City I take the liberty of forwarding to your address some Shirts and Hose for Capt. Savage's Compy at Springfield which I request you to have conveyed to him, as soon as may be after receiving them, and to give to Capt. Conklin duplicate receipts, on the producing of which at this Office the freight will be paid to him.
