Dear Sir
Your letter of the 8th of May last to Mr Pierce was handed me a few days since. Agreeably to your request I enclose you a copy of the original Warrant certified by the Register of the Treasury, granted to general Heth for a M Pay amounting to 250 Dollrs which sum you will find has been received by Major Trophon & for which he is certainly accountable to general Heth —
Mr Pierces indisposition & absence from the office induces me to advise you that you may receive the earliest information of the transaction. You will oblige me by presenting my respectful compliments to Mrs Wilkinson.
