I have the honor to inclose you a duplicate receipt from the Treasurer for the national debt paper delivered him by the Commissioners of Army Accounts agreeably to your directions of the 14th instant.

On the settlement of the accounts of Elijah Jones Paymaster to Colonel Sheldon's Regiment for the four months pay in 1780. Mr Jones returned into the hands of Mr Pierce the sum of sixty dollars Specie. being for the pay of Daniel Craig Sarjeant in said regiment. Daniel Craig has now applied by his attorney James Reynolds for this money but which is not in the hands of Mr Pierce as he has credited the United States with the same some time since.
I have therefore to request you will please to issue your warrant for the amount to enable me to satisfy the Claimant. — I am Sir Yours,
