Sir West Point May 3^d 1788 Agreeable to your Letter of September 28^th 1787 - I have sold M^r James Herrow, Stoves to the amount of two hundred and twenty Eight pounds. And herein enclose [strikethrough: the] two Accounts of the Articles sold to him- which, with the twenty two pounds he had in Provision, makes up the Sum of two hundred and Fifty pounds New York Currency, the Amount of his Account for repairing and [strikethrough: Cleang] Cleaning One thousand Stands of Arms for the United States, at Five Shillings Each — I have been turning the Powder Over this Spring, And find that there will be a Considerable Number of Barrels and hoops wanting to shift and Repair the Old Casks — If the Gen^ls Should think proper, I wish to begin to air the Powder by the first of Next month, so as to have time to air it all this Summer — And from the best Calculation that I Can make at Present, we shall want 2000 hoop poles, and 200 powder [strikethrough: Casks] Barrels to Contain 100 pound each — The Barrels Can be got at 3/ each - and the hoop poles at 4/ per Hundred And we shall want One Cooper at Least, to work in the magazine every day, to repair such Casks as may want it, and will answer again — I have forwarded by the Bearer M^r Hitchcum, the Returns of Ordnance and Quart^o Master Stores for the month of April 1788 — I am Sir &c — The Honorable Major Gen^l Knox Secretary at War — Sir West Point May 9^th 1788 — The Stores which you directed to be Packed up, in your Letter of April 29^th Are now ready to be Delivered to Captain Bradford — Except, the Seven Oil Cloths for Artillery, of which there is none in Store — And the 300 Yards of Rope for Haleyards, for which there is no Rope Suitable, as the Least we have is Inch Rope — [strikethrough: I am Sir &c] The Honorable Major General Knox Secretary at War — I have given M^r Isaac Garrison a Certificate for delivering One Hundred and fourteen Cords of Wood for the Use of this Garrison, Amounting to the Sum of One hundred and fourteen pounds New York Currency — I am Sir
