Office of Army Accounts April 15 1786 Sir I do myself the honor to inclose you a Pay Roll of a detachment of the 1^st Regiment stationed at M^t. M^cKoint with an account current by which it appears that a balance of 4703⁄4 dollars is due the detachment to the 1^st of January 1797. Ensign Luce has received of Lieut Beatty the sum of 70 dollars being for one months pay of himself 1 Serjeant 1 Corporal and 12 Privates, which sum M^r Luce acknowledges to have appropriated to his own use; this charge I have not introduced into this account but propose with your approbation to oppose it to his pay of 1787 I have the honor to be with great respect your ob^d: Serv^t. Sir M^r Mark Garrett does not appear either on the return of prisoners or list of exchanges that are on file in this office — I imagine you can procure the information at the War Office, as they have all the returns — I was mistaken in respect to M^r Garrett's being commissioned in the Pennsylvania line.
