Madam
In answer to your letter of the 10th of March last reciev'd this day, I am to inform you that the Paymaster of the regiment to which Hugh Bradley belong'd has not closed his accounts, which forbids my transmitting you a certificate for what was retained from Bradley on a supposition of his receiving the Money from the United States by the hands of Lieut Denny Lodge who drew as for the first Pennsylvania Regiment. He is somewhere in Pennsylvania, but what part I am a stranger to, and therefore cannot call on him for a settlement.
