My dear Papa
[Received from State Dep't Nov. 24 [80?] R.P.O 401810]
It is a long time since I have had the pleasure of hearing from you, how many anxious hours have I past for a Month I have not heard a word from you, but I impute it to the multiplicity of buisness with which you are surrounded— or I am perswaded you would write often— I wrote to by Post a fortnight ago— hope to hear from you to night— or I shall conclude you are indisposed— or have had occasion to be offended with my Brother or myself— heaven forbid that either of those should be the reason of your Silence— let me put some other construction on your not writing— and not think of those I have just mentioned— I have expected you every Month but what fates have denied me every wish I have one I want gratified That is in being permitted your dear company in Boston That is a reasonable request, and then I could look upon myself completely happy my Brother is a writing, all Uncles family is well and desires to be remembered to— you may every happiness attend you is the sincere wish of an affectionate & Dutiful Daughter—
