Since I had the Honor of Receiving your fav.r of 15th Dec.r last on the Subject of the Two 18 pound Cannon taken from the Deposite of public Store. by the Owners of Hope Furnace — I have made Several applications to Gov.r Bowen for proof of their Claims to Said Cannon — in order that I might Transmit the Same agreeable to your Request — but as I have not yet been able to obtain Said proof, and Two months having elapsed Since you Wrote me on the Subject, I have thought proper to assure you I have not been Inattentive to your Requ.r and
and shall persevere in my applications untill I obtain the aforesaid proof when I will Bomy self the honor to transmit the Same to you —
It affords me peculiar pleasure To Congratulate you Sir, on the adoption of the New Constitution by the late Convention of Massachusetts — a most Interesting & Important event — I hope New York and the other States will soon follow the Godlike bean. &
