Sir,
I have the Honor to acknowledge the receipt of your Excellencys favors of the 17th and 23d of January, enclosing a list of officers, appointed to the quota of troops to be raised by the State of Connecticut, in consequence of the acts of Congress of the 3d of October 1790.
Not having received information from the frontiers of the number of men enlisted to be engaged in the service, I cannot yet determine on the number to be appointed in each State. As soon as the necessary information shall be received, and the arrangements made to recruit the deficiencies, I will have [undecipherable] the honor to write your Excellency on the subject.
