I was there for on my return, but am impeded by some business here for I believe, two weeks, tho' I have seen to learn that the latter end of next week. the letters enclosed I will thank you either to deliver or throw into the post office. and any for me from the Southward should they escape me here, I wish you to enclose me.

Three of your Certificates No 15,711 No 15,712 for 476 dollars, & No 15,713 for 700 dollars, dated the 19th Jan 1784, in favor of Mr John Hayes, are lodged on this Office by Mr Hayes, to draw the Interest — on comparing them with the Copy of your register I find No 15,711 & 15,712 for 820 dollars & No 15,713 for 825 dollars in favor of John Hayes, the dates and private Marks corresponding as these Certificates are brought by Mr Hayes himself, and there is not the least appearance of alteration in the Certificates, I conclude your Register must be erroneous in this instance — as I shall postpone paying the interest till I hear from you, I must request an early Answer.
