[undecipherable] in [undecipherable] that is — [undecipherable] for Seven — [undecipherable] think [undecipherable] that there Should be [undecipherable] to the Men it Can be got at about 3 or 4 pints per Month — I [undecipherable] to know how much will be allowed to each Man, and how often The Hon^ble I am Sir &c — Major Gen^l Knox Secretary at War — West Point February 3 1790 Sir/ I have received your Letter of the 28^th [undecipherable] and have [undecipherable] the ten that is in for which will [undecipherable] to make the Comp. butter — and have contracted with M^r Horton to make [undecipherable] at [undecipherable] each, which with the 40 [undecipherable] Burbank has on hand will Complete the three Comp[anie]s — If you Should think proper to have any more Camp [undecipherable] made — at this time they can be done — I mention this because M^r Horton does not make them himself and [undecipherable] the man that works with him may be gone when we shall need it another time — I can also get from [undecipherable] and [undecipherable] for the [undecipherable] the Muskets [undecipherable] have made as low as [undecipherable] for the [undecipherable] The [undecipherable] that we have on hand (which [undecipherable]) will not be sufficient to last the troops that have [undecipherable] respect to the last of April — which is I believe [undecipherable] 700 Men Under the Guard — and Lieu^t Prince informs me that he expects one or two Officers with [undecipherable] 70 Men in a few days from [undecipherable] from which Captain Burbank has information — [undecipherable] want 10 Cord to make up for the present Number — If you Should think proper to have two, or more [undecipherable] I can get [undecipherable] more while they [undecipherable] Lasts.
