Richmond, Aug. 2. 1789 Sir, I received your letter of the 16^th Ult by last evening's Post and about three days ago one [undecipherable] [undecipherable] of Charleston came into this city with several thousand dollars of the very money I have been in search of which is said he had. He has been a factor of the house of Scarborough & Cook [undecipherable] since [undecipherable] your Excellent a fortnight ago in Charleston. The court [undecipherable] clearly shews that Patrick has deceived you and that he has [undecipherable] of [undecipherable] [undecipherable] probably of the whole which was in his hands.
