Dear Sir,
Inclosed you will receive the copy of a letter I received last Summer from M: Pierce by which you will observe I was desired to inform myself whether all the monies charg'd Colonel [undecipherable: Abrams] was accounted for as the papers on which this enquiry was to be founded have been removed to your Office, I beg you will have the matter considered and give me your directions to deliver the Certificates as they have applied and without M: Pierce or your authority, I have declined delivering them. Please to tell Mr Swan that the return of the Three months pay by Mr Bird was by mistake left here but that I will forward it by the first opportunity.
