[Rec'd June 25 1787] [Tolle Gov. of Virg. —] [Copied] I take the liberty to enclose, the copy of a prayer lodged by [underline: Oliver Pollock] with the comptroller of the accounts of the United States, and an extract taken by me from the receipt of a number of Officers of the State of Virginia, for a quantity of the goods [undecipherable: the property of that] shipped by [underline: A. Pollock], [undecipherable: and appointed] from New Orleans and received by those Officers agreeable to their [undecipherable] referred to, and which are also [undecipherable] in [undecipherable] As the State has long since been [undecipherable: apprised] of the [undecipherable: circumstances] that these goods had been taken by her Officers, it may be presumed that the same has been [undecipherable] accounted for by them in their own settlements, which would form a part of those western accounts under the examination of [undecipherable: born commissioners], and that there can be no objection that the [undecipherable: account] of the same be carried to the credit of the United States in the settlement now making for the expenses of that country.
