[undecipherable] [undecipherable] [signature with paraph]] N^o 3 Richmond June 8. 1787 D^r Sir [seal] Being in this state on business, which will detain me untill the first of September, I shall not be able [^before] [^then] to pay un all attention to your business at the Treasury, as I [^here] [undecipherable] that the public bills now arrived in New York You were [^now] informed by me some times [^since] that I had sent an order in favor of Ag^t Neufville & Son Office in Charleston, on [undecipherable] Commodores [undecipherable], for the money which was left in [undecipherable] under [his] hand. I have now a few days since had a line from M^r Neufville [^acquainting] [informing] me that this business appears to become very disagreeable [^completion] aspect completion, as he could not obtain any satisfactory information of the man; after finding out his wife that M^r Neufvilles a mysterious [undecipherable] office being at a great distance from Charleston, but where she could not [undecipherable] however she said she expected him shortly in town. I am fearful that the public will never find a dollar of this money.
