Dear Sir,
Your letters of May 17th & 25th are arrived — I have written by this Post to the Board of Treasury in your favor, and desired them to give you an appointment to the State as will not make it necessary for you to leave my office before my return — it is uncertain how long this business will require, as I have taken the whole up apart from the Vouchers, if you can prevail on the Board to let Mr [undecipherable] join me, it would hasten and relieve very considerably. The Auditor's papers must be arranged as they will be found to be wanted to in the settlement of the States accounts and I believe to place them in the order they were formerly will be best — I perceive by your [undecipherable] that you have fixed a Certificate to Mr [undecipherable], which is [undecipherable]
