Sir
Meeting with an opportunity by Capt. Norris, I take the Liberty again to Solicit the Copies of my Fathers Accounts that I wrote to you for last Summer and again in February last but have not Received any answer. Mr Livermore told me that you did not fully understand my meaning — the Certificate that I want of you is that the Accounts of N° 1. 2. 3 & 4 Contains a full Statement of all General Starks Military Accounts, and that he has legally Accounted for all the Moneys that he Received from the Publick while an Officer in the American Army — this Certificate I wish you to sign Officially and transmit me by the Return of Capt Norris who will have the Honour of delivering this.
This Gentleman is the Father of one Elaphalet Norris who was taken up some time since for Passing Counterfeit Publick Securities. his Business is to See what is become of his Son, altho the Son may have been Guilty of faults, yet the Father has ever sustained a fair and unblemished Reputation and deserves Respect and Attention from every Publick Officer.
