Dear Sir, Richmond April 30. 1787
The enclosed letter to Mrs Osgood being of a confidential nature, I wish you to hand it to him at his House or leave it there for him. When I was in Philadelphia I got the trial of the fellow confined in goal there for passing my altered certificates, postponed until July next When Bronson must appear as an evidence — I wish you to let him know it, and that in case he does not return before that time, that you would attend at the court to prove the alteration — the papers (as also Bronsons Original certificate) for that purpose, I left with Mr Smith the Loan officer to whom you will apply for them, in case you want them before that time — your letter of the 19th has just arrived.
