That on the 18^th June 1778 Congress resolved the additional pay of one hundred dollars as allow'd a Major General when commanding in a separate department — That an allowance of 125 dollars monthly was granted on the 15^th of April 1777 to Briga^d Gen^l Howe and any officer of equal rank who should succeed him in the command of the Troops in South Carolina and Georgia and also on the 14^th of [undecipherable] 1779 a grant was made to Brig^d Gen^l Moultrie of the Extra pay of a Major Gen^l in a separate command —
