I have forwarded by Mr. James Duncan the [two undecipherable words]pieces of ordnance which you directed in your letter of January 3rd 1787 with their carriages and implements agreeable to the Enclosed Invoice, the [undecipherable word], tube boxes, and drag boxes are [ink blot] nailed [undecipherable word] in the side boxes, also the [undecipherable word] plat with the Indian on it–

I have agreed with Mr. Duncan for the [undecipherable word] which is thirty six shillings, but have not paid him–

I have given Mr. James [undecipherable last name] a certificate [undecipherable word] four hundred and eighty French carbines for the United States agreeable to your letter of January 3rd 1787 at 19/96 of a Dollar each amounting to seventy five Dollars–

Also one for his New [undecipherable word] three hundred and twenty eight axes agreeable to your Letter of December 8, 1786, amounting in the whole to sixty one pounds five shillings at the following Rate Viz 174 Axes Layed with Steel only is 3/6 each…[symbol for British Pounds Sterling] 30:9:0 154 Axes do [for ditto] with Iron & Steel as 4/ at …. 30:16:0 [line drawn under the 174 & 154 to show addition] 328 Total [line drawn under the two sums to indicate addition] [symbol for British Pounds Sterling] 61:5:0

Mr. [undecipherable last name] is now going down to see if you intend that any of the Arms at this place shall be [undecipherable word, repaired?] this season, if not, he intends having this place as all the Private work he can get to do will not be an object worth his attention.

If you should think proper to employ him then there may be a considerable number of Arms [undecipherable word] [undecipherable notation] out that could be repaired with a Little Expense

I hope to find the two Gallons of oil which I requested to be [undecipherable word] last fall to oil the Guns on the [undecipherable word rocks?]
