John Jameson of Colonel Barkes Regiment Flying Camp stands charged in the Books of the Pay Office with the following sums of money (Viz) Sep 20. Received of Jos Hoose P. M. to the Bn on Del. Dolls. 30 Oct 21 J. for Jos. Galton P.M. to ditto — 500 [undecipherable] 550 of Elias Boudreot C. G. P^ri — June 172 69½ of John Beatley — ditto — d^o 80. 61¾ Dollars 251. 21½ Cap^ten Jameson was taken prisoner on the 16^th November 1776 and exchanged the 6^th August 1778 — On examining the Books of M^r Dallam I find that John Wilkerson a Member of Assembly rec^d on the 1^st March 1777 the Sum of 608 ⁷⁹/₉₀ dollars for the pay & Mellage of Cap^t John Jamesons Company Colonel Harles Regiment Pennsylvania Militia a copy of the receipt is enclosed. Whether this Money was drawn for the present applicant or not I cannot determine by M^r Dallams Books. the I am of opinion from the difference of the names of the Officers Given of the two Companies that this man answered for another however you will please to examine into the matter and if you find my opinion coincides with yours the Accounts of the present applicant may be closed. If on the contrary it should appear the Money was received for him he must be charged with the sum of 425 Doll being so much drawn for pay & Mileage as appears by the Pay Acct— I have also on Cap^t Jamesons Account of monies advanced his Men, the Several Sums that have been paid them by M^r Dallam on their return from Captivity. Cap^tain Jamesons is included in a Settlement at this Office pursuant to Act of Congress — Copy of the Receipt March M^r 1777 — Received of Richard Dallam D. P. M. Gen^l. Six hundred & eight dollars & ⁷⁹/₉₀ of a dollar it being Pay due Cap^t John Jamesons Company of Col^o. Harles Reg^t. Pensylvania Militia as P. Act & Warrant 608 ⁷⁹/₉₀ Doll^s Jn^o.
