Letter from the Commissioner of Army Accounts
Document 1786Letter from the Commissioner of Army Accounts to William Few.
New York, November 30th 1786
Sir
In addition to the information communicated in my letter to you of the 30th of September last, respecting the accounts of the line of Georgia. I do myself the honor to inform you that the amount of the certificates that would have been issued to the officers of that line would have been 1751, (undecipherable) Dollars had not the legislation of that state interfered and made payments for services after the first day of August 17780 - that the sum which I actually paid to the line is 108,065 69/go dollars part of which was paid for services prior to August 1780 in consequence of the States assuming so considerable a proportion of the pay of the line after that period.
