for his payment. The nation account attended with almost
insurmountable difficulties and great uncertainty has not yet
been laid before Congress — I want your original papers,
the returns, mileages, arrangements, and the receipts you took for
the certificates issued to the men, when you come or can come
by a safe opportunity I wish you to forward these for person—
I am making out the certificates for the men, which you required
might be forwarded, but find I shall not be able to send them
by this conveyance — Yours &c
