Colonel William Williams having made application for a settlement of the pay due him and his Company in Colo D Haas Regiment in the year 1776 induced Mr Jones to enter into a full investigation of his claim after much search a pay Roll of which the enclosed is a copy was found among the Vouchers of Maxana Feldwell and which informs us that the whole of the monies stopped from the Soldiers of that Regiment have been paid to Colonel D. Haas. this roll is therefore sent you that you may be enabled to satisfy the Officers that the United States have granted the whole that is due the Regiment and that any further application to this Office will be unnecessary M
