War [Office?] New York September 30. 1786 Sir I [undecipherable] in consequence of [undecipherable] to inclose a stating of the species that would have been due to the Officers of the line of Georgia, had not the State in the first instances included the same in their settle- ment and certificates issued thereon, and had I not given the [undecipherable: sates?] credit for it in my general certificate for its [undecipherable] advances. and also a stating of the species which were [undecipherable] but still due to other Officers with whom [undecipherable] and [undecipherable], had not they been included in their settlement with me, and had they not received the same in certificates. I inclose also a stating of the settlement made with the State, shewing the advances made by the State at different periods, and some observations thereon which will give you some Idea of the difficulty which you wished to have explained in these accounts, and also a Copy of my report to Congress on the subject.
