[Copy of the [undecipherable] Contract — [undecipherable] the [undecipherable]] [1786] [undecipherable] [undecipherable] Copy of an Agreement It is agreed between Mess^rs Turnbull Marmie & Co of the City of Philadelphia Merchants on the one part, and Samuel Osgood and Arthur Lee Esquires Commissioners of the Board of Treasury of the other part, that they the said Turnbull Marmie &c^o Shall furnish and deliver to the order of the Secretary at War, the Articles of Cloathing specified in the annexed Schedule, at the prices therein mentioned, which Schedule to prevent any misunderstanding, shall be countersigned by the Parties to this Agreement — It is further agreed that the delivery of the said Cloathing Shall be made to the person duly appointed to Inspect and Receipt for the same by the Secretary at War at the City of Philadelphia on or before the fifteenth day of October next and that the Contractors shall engage whenever thereafter required by the said Secretary to cause the same to be carefully transported and delivered without delay to his order at Pittsburg in the State of Penn^a charging for such transportation no more than the customary price given at Philadelphia for transporting the like quantity of merchandize, with a commission of five p^r Ct for superintending the same — It is moreover agreed between the Parties that the sum of eleven thousand & thirty two½ Dollars shall be advanced to the said Turnbull Marmie &c^o on account of this Contract in the manner proposed by them in their letter to the Commissioners of the Board of Treasury of the 31^st of August last, and that they shall exhibit to the Comptroller of the Treasury the accounts of the Cloathing furnished and transported under this Contract on or before the thirty first day of December next in order that the same may be finally adjusted — In Witness whereof the Parties to these Presents have hereunto interchangably set their hands and Seals this second day of September One Thousand seven hundred and eighty six — Sealed and Delivered In the Presence of, W^m Duer Sec^y to the Board of Treasury Signed Samuel Osgood [seal] Arthur Lee [seal] Turnbull Marmie & Co [seal] (Copy of the Schedule) Schedule of the Articles and prices of Cloathing referred to in the foregoing Contract 358 Uniform Coats . . . .
