I find myself the Bearer to Inform you on the [undecipherable]
sundry depositions relating to the People who have had [con-]sidered confederates, as the same I suggested a Wish that if it was
possible to procure one more of the Agents employed by
Morris, to Confess his knowledge of the transaction, it
would be of Advantage in bringing Morris to Justice.

I find that in Sept. 1781 an Advance was made
by the United States to the Troops of the Connecticut Line which
were then at the head of [Elk?] on their March to Virginia as this
advance was charged to the Troops on their Settlement with
the State for that year. I am to request that you will be
pleased to furnish me with an Account of such Credits
as are Entered in your Books to the United States on this
Account [I am] Gentlemen
