I have received your Letter of the 29 ult^o your Claim for pay is now totally barred from Coming before me it not having reached me before the 5 Instant and my directions are very Pointed not to deviate from the resolution fore closing claims produced after the first of the Month. Sir New York August 25^th 1786 Your Letter of the 18 Ult^o came to hand the 5^th Instant &that of the 9 instant came to hand the 14^th in which you prefer a Claim in behalf of your late Brother Cap Barnes Eichelberger. as the Act of fore submitting Claims on my Office took place the first day of this month, any Claims which your late Brother Otherwise might have had are debarred from being admitted.
