I have received your letter respecting your Claim for Commutation which shall be attended to. In Respect to your Claim for Subsistance money I believe it to be one of the engagements, which tho' not forgot by the Public cannot be paid for want of the means to do it. there is besides some difficulty in Obtaining the necessary documents to the Accounts of the Rations State due to the Army—
