Charges against General DeHaas
Document 1786As requested, enclosed are the charges against General DeHaas. Mr. Pierce is still absent but, when he returns, he will be informed of the issue regarding Col. Wood although the author needs to be sure that it is Col. Joseph Wood that is being referenced and not some other Col. Wood. Also the 445 pounds [currency] granted to Capt. McGowan was for the use of State regiments and verification is needed that the money in fact went to the State.

Comptroller Genls Office
August 3. 1786.
Dr Sir
Will you be so obliging as to send me an account of the charges against Gent Dehars? I omitted to bring them also — If you could spare the book I left with you I would take pains to have his account drawn out regularly and sent with the vouchers for examination.
You will please to tell Mr Stine to send me his instructions not to deliver Col. McOd any money untill he has deposited his accounts with the United States.
Yours &c
