Sir, On settlement of an account between the U States and District Ald Maris late of the 2d Regiment Penna — There appears a balance due from him of the sum of 1090/100 dols Specie which you will please to charge to his account of depreciation as a supernumerary Officer, and send a Certificate that this sum is plac'd to the credit of the U States, which will enable me to close his accounts in the Books of this Office —
